Duke Engineering Student Government is excited to endorse Lana Gesinsky for Duke Student Government president. Both candidates have expertise in DSG and a love for Duke, with a passion for serving our student body. After meeting with both candidates and discussing issues pertaining to the Pratt student body, the ESG executive board agrees that Lana’s vision for enhancing the engineering community and reforming student life makes her the ideal candidate for DSG president.

Having met with both candidates, the executive board collectively agrees that Tommy’s experience on many influential DSG projects, his clear vision for his presidency and his eagerness to collaborate on projects affecting Pratt Students, makes him ESG’s ideal candidate for DSG president.

The Engineering Student Government endorses Tim Skapek for the position of Young Trustee. All four finalists, Tim Skapek, Ibrahim Butt, Leah Abrams and Maryam Asenuga are candidates with incredible potential and have done amazing jobs as on-campus leaders in their four years at Duke. Having listened to each candidate talk about their passions and reasons for running for the YT position, the executive board collectively believes that Tim’s diverse experiences, institutional knowledge of Duke and ability to identify flaws and push through boundaries makes him the best candidate to assist Pratt’s continued advancement and growth as one of the country’s preeminent engineering institutions.

Duke Engineering Student Government formally endorses Sabriyya Pate for DSG president. All five candidates (Sabriyya Pate, Sean Bissell, Kristina Smith, Jamal Burns and Yemi Kolawole) have impressive backgrounds and demonstrate a thorough understanding of Duke issues. Having met and interviewed each candidate, the executive board collectively believes that Sabriyya’s experience as Attorney General, track record of executing her words, and eagerness to engage with Pratt students makes her ESG’s ideal candidate for DSG President.

The Engineering Student Government endorses Chinmay Pandit for the position of Young Trustee. All four finalists, Chinmay Pandit, Bryce Cracknell, Elizabeth Brown, and Amy Kramer are candidates with incredible potential, and have done amazing jobs as on-campus leaders in their four years at Duke. Having met and interviewed each candidate, the executive board collectively believes that Chinmay’s trustee-level experience, institutional knowledge of Duke, and specific focus on how he would operate on the Board of Trustees makes him the best candidate for Young Trustee. 


ESG Young Trustee endorsement

Engineering Student Government is pleased to officially endorse Anna Knight for Young Trustee. While Anna is a great representative of Pratt, she also has many perspectives on Trinity and campus life as a whole. After careful consideration of each candidate’s proposals for Duke, ESG agreed that Anna’s ideas best encompass the interests of Duke’s student body. While we thought that David Robertson and Nikolai Doytchinov were both strong candidates, Anna stood out as leader who can effectively speak for all Duke students, and the engineering community in particular.


Duke Engineering Student Government endorses Zhang for Young Trustee

It is with confidence that the Engineering Student Government endorses Katherine Zhang for the position of Young Trustee. All three finalists, Katherine Zhang, Neil Kondamuri and Jacob Tobia are candidates with incredible potential and have done amazing jobs as on-campus leaders in their four years at Duke. Having met and interviewed each of the candidates, we feel that Katherine Zhang’s unique range of experiences as well as her understanding of campus issues makes her both the best voice for Pratt students and the entire undergraduate body to serve on the Board of Trustees.


Vote Davis for YT

Engineering Student Government is pleased to officially endorse Matt Davis for Young Trustee. We endorse Davis not because he is representative of Trinity, Pratt or any other aspect of Duke, but because his majors in both undergraduate schools give him many perspectives on campus and academic life. He is best able to represent all of Duke. ESG met with and carefully considered Matt Davis, Michelle Sohn, Ben Getson and Brooke Kingsland. While all were thought to be strong candidates, Davis’ familiarity with the Duke students makes his voice invaluable at the highest levels of University leadership.
