X Factor: Duke basketball vs. Indiana

After easily handling Utah State 85-52 Sunday, No. 7 Duke looks to extend its four-game winning streak against Indiana in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The Blue Devils (6-1) have shown signs of improvement during the recent stretch after their early loss to top-ranked Kentucky, while the Hoosiers (5-2) will come in looking to rebound from losses to Wake Forest and UNLV in the Maui Invitational. The Blue Zone takes a look at one player from each team who could be the difference in the game:



XFactor: Duke basketball vs Utah State

After dismantling Yale in an 80-61 victory, No. 6 Duke will try to extend its NCAA-best 119-game nonconference winning streak Sunday against Utah State. The Blue Devils (5-1) are riding a three-game winning streak, while Utah State (4-0) has not lost this season, and is looking to build on an 81-55 victory against Utah Valley Tuesday. The Blue Zone takes a look at one player from each team who could be the difference in the game:











Beyond the Arc: Duke vs. Florida Southern

In their first real exhibition game of the season, the Blue Devils defeated Florida Southern 112-68 in a blowout victory. Friday was Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski's first opportunity to see his revamped roster perform in a real basketball game since the Blue-White scrimmage during Countdown to Craziness two weeks ago. Freshmen Brandon Ingram, Derryck Thornton, Luke Kennard and Chase Jeter combined for 59 points as the Blue Devils coasted to the victory.


Making the Grade: Duke football vs Virginia Tech

The Blue Devils held on for a wild 45-43 win against Virginia Tech Saturday evening at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, Va. For one of the first times this season, the Duke offense bailed out the defense to help the Blue Devils stay in the driver’s seat of the ACC Coastal division. With the victory, Duke moved to 6-1 and is now eligible for postseason play for the fourth consecutive season.



Duke football midseason report: Offense

Through the first half of the season, the Blue Devils are off to a fast start with a 5-1 record, including a perfect 2-0 mark in the ACC. No. 25 Duke is currently in the drivers seat for the ACC Costal division crown and a chance to play in the ACC Championship Game. But for the team to stay hot, the Blue Devil offense must improve. This week, we will break down all three phases of the game starting with the offense. Check back tomorrow for an update on the Blue Devil defense.



Making the Grade: Duke football vs Boston College

The Blue Devils were able to survive a tough challenge from Boston College with a 9-7 victory Saturday afternoon at Wallace Wade Stadium. This was the last game of a four-game stretch at home during which Duke finished 3-1 with only a loss to No. 16 Northwestern. Although both teams struggled on offense and the game was far from pretty, the Blue Devils (4-1, 2-0 in the ACC) built an early 9-0 lead and hung on late to stay atop the ACC Coastal Division.
