Coming off a masterful performance against Nigeria, the United States looked unbeatable. After Saturday's contest against Lithuania, a 99-94 victory in which the Americans trailed in the fourth quarter, no one believes the U.S. is untouchable.

The Americans could do no wrong on the basketball court Thursday, steamrolling the Nigerian team by a score of 156-73, lead by Carmelo Anthony's 37 points in just 14 minutes. However, a foreign reporter raised the question of whether there was wrong-doing on the part of the coach.

Duke has made a splash in London by, well, not making much of a splash. Divers Abby Johnston and Nick McCrory have both stood up on the podium to receive their well deserved hardware, Johnston taking silver with McCrory winning bronze. The two synchronized divers won the first diving medals for the United States since the 2000 games in Sydney, Australia, and the first Olympic synchronized diving medals in U.S. history.

Connor Vernon received his first of what could be many accolades before the season even starts. When the balloting finished at the ACC Football Kickoff, the Duke receiver was named to the Preseason All-ACC Football Team.

According to an Associated Press release, former Duke national champion Kyle Singler will be returning stateside to play for the Detroit Pistons. Singler was selected by the Pistons with the 33rd pick in the second round of the 2011 draft, but turned down a chance to play in the NBA after the lockout and instead took his talents to Spain. Pistons President of Basketball Operations Joe Dumars told the AP, "We expect to sign Kyle Singler July 11, [the first day teams can sign free agents]. We look forward to having him with the Pistons this season."
