FINAL: Duke 76, N.C. State 52— Indeed, Zafirovski and Peters have gotten off the bench and are preparing to check in for 1:40 of ACC playing time. They receive a loud ovation from the crowd as Hairston sinks a free throw. Zafirovski quickly gets in the scorebook with a "kneeing" foul. The rest of the game comes to a close uneventfully, as the Crazies begin a "Go To Hell Carolina" chant in preparation for Wednesday's showdown. That's it from The Chronicle's Sports Blog—check out the print edition Monday for all the details on this victory.

It’s been a pretty uneventful week in K-ville. Grace was granted from Friday until Wednesday afternoon, giving everyone (especially me) time to figure out how to deal with the snow. I’m not entirely familiar with the stuff, living in Santa Barbara, but I was surprised to see the greater Durham area shut down for the majority part of the weekend.
Notwithstanding massive snowstorms and their effects this week, this is the time of year that Cameron Crazies embark on a journey known nationwide as tenting. And this year, The Chronicle is here to tell the tenters' story in a more interactive way than ever before.

Speaking in Page Auditorium tonight, Mike Krzyzewski asked a group of prospective K-Ville residents to return to the more "spontaneous" roots of the Cameron Crazies. Specifically, Krzyzewski asked students to eliminate the cheer sheets distributed before every game in favor of new and different chants for each opponent. Krzyzewski also announced that he would be encouraging students to create creative signs for the student section this year, and after each game Krzyzewski said would choose his favorite sign, and that student and a friend would be able to sit directly behind the Duke coach during the Blue Devils next home game.
The morning after I proposed ending Krzyzewskiville, a thread entitled “Blasphemous Article about K-Ville” appeared on the message board of the Blue Devil hoops web site Duke Basketball Report. Predictably, some of the posters agreed with me, and others thought I was out of my mind. But one post stood out more than most.
In deciding whether to declare early for the NBA Draft, Gerald Henderson already has a chorus of advisers. Now, the junior has another choir urging him to stay at Duke for another year: his classmates.
A respectable 6-2 mark yesterday--I mean, I'm no Barack Obama--leaves me at 27-13 for the Tournament. Remember, my original picks (before they were messed up Friday) are in parentheses.
It's been a while, and there's been some a-happenings in the Duke sports world since we last checked in under this segment. So, let's dive right in.
So in a mad stroke of desperation, I am appealing to you, dear Sports Blog readers.
Duke only plays North Carolina in Cameron Indoor Stadium once a year, and for Wednesday's matchup, GoDuke.com, the official site of Duke athletics, plans to take full advantage of the special occasion.
Four years ago, I visited the John Hay Library at Brown University and got to see a selection from its rare books collection. Of the many incredible works I saw that day, the item that fascinated me most was a page from the original manuscript of George Orwell's classic, 1984. And of the original words Orwell wrote on the page (double-spaced), I think a grand total of seven were not crossed out in red ink. It was at that moment when I realized how brutal and torturous the writing process can be.
