Duke Climate Coalition holds protest, publishes report on University research funded by fossil fuel companies

Over 50 students gathered on the Bryan Center Plaza Friday afternoon for a Fossil Free Research Day of Action, coinciding with the release of a report by the Duke Climate Coalition alleging that the University received over $24 million in research funding from the fossil fuel industry between 2010 and 2021.

Durham City Council candidate Nate Baker prioritizes community-centered, sustainable development

Baker was the highest polling candidate in Durham’s primary municipal elections on Oct. 10, garnering 18.27% of the vote. He will face Javiera Caballero, Carl Rist, Khalilah Karim and Monique Holsey-Hyman in the general election on Nov. 7 for the Council’s three at-large seats.

Duke climate activists attend protest in New York, call on Biden to declare climate emergency

Duke Climate Coalition organizers claimed that Duke students represented the largest group of college students at the protest, with 56 students traveling to New York City on a DCC-chartered bus and 10 others joining via alternative transportation methods.
