The Chronicle is releasing survey data about the Class of 2026 this week.
The University is still challenging a 2016 NLRB decision that affirmed the legal right for grad students to unionize.
Duke admitted 2,148 high school seniors to the Class of 2027 through its Regular Decision admissions cycle, according to Dean of Undergraduate Admissions Christoph Guttentag.
Under the proposed changes, the responsibility of recognizing new student groups would shift from SOFC to the Student Involvement and Leadership team in the Office of Student Affairs.
Young Trustees are current students selected to be on the Board of Trustees for two or three years that must “demonstrate an ability to think broadly about the university.”
Lattimore, a doctoral candidate in theology at the Divinity School, hopes to use his experience in working across boundaries to take an interdisciplinary approach to supporting the University’s priorities.
Juarez, Graduate School ’22, hopes to improve the infrastructure of higher education in its integration of both students and faculty in a shared system of leadership.
Brigard, a third-year juris doctor candidate at Duke Law School, hopes to bring her unique set of life experiences and her passion for servant leadership to the Board of Trustees.
Crittenden hopes to “understand who we are to each other” in the Duke community, broaden engagement with the Durham community, and strengthen wellness resources.
Twenty-minute passing periods were standard before the University closed in-person operations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Registration for fall 2023 classes begins on April 5 and ends April 13.
Both of these roles were newly created by the University after the departure of Michael Schoenfeld in 2022, who was responsible for both communications and government relations.
The theme of the event, “We were there, and now we are here: Redefining Our Center,” was a nod to the physical move of the CMA and many student affinity spaces in the Bryan Center in the last year.
"No one really remembers what pre-COVID dining at Duke looked like, and students are trying to re-establish the norm of what sustainable dining looks like on campus."
