New study looks at health risks of in-car pollution

Rush hour drivers may have more to worry about than just traffic jams, according to a recent study. Measurements made by researchers at Duke, Emory University and the Georgia Institute of Technology showed that car drivers and passengers were twice as exposed to air pollution as someone near the roadside.

Megan Mullin, associate professor of environmental politics, recently co-authored an article in the Annual Review of Political Science called "Climate Change: US Public Opinion." The article discusses Americans' attitudes toward the existence of climate change. The Chronicle spoke with Mullin about the article and her views toward climate change policy and opinion.
