The struggles of the women's soccer team this season continued over the weekend at the Santa Clara Nike Classic. After defeating Saint Mary's on Friday night, 2-1, the 25th-ranked Blue Devils were blanked by No. 2 Santa Clara, 5-0.

The volleyball team continued its up and down season last night in Winston-Salem as it fell to Wake Forest in five games. The Blue Devils (6-7, 1-2 in the ACC) held a 2-1 game advantage but could not manage to close the match in either games four or five.

Charles Dickens could easily have been referring to the Duke volleyball team when he wrote, "It was the best of times. It was the worst of times." The Blue Devils continued their rendition of a Tale of Two Teams this weekend. After easily defeating defending Atlantic Coast Conference champions Maryland on Friday night 3-0, Duke (6-6, 1-1 in the ACC) dropped its match on Sunday to Virginia by the same score.
