Duke’s lone 2012 signee, Rasheed Sulaimon, will play on the West team in the 2012 McDonald’s All American Game, which will be played March 28th at the United Center in Chicago. Duke targets Shabazz Muhammad, Tony Parker and Amile Jefferson were also selected to play in the prestigious all-star game. North Carolina signee Marcus Paige will play alongside Sulaimon in the backcourt. Paige is North Carolina’s only committed player in this year’s event.

After months of speculation and rumors, Nerlens Noel, a lanky 6-foot-10 shot blocking machine, sent shockwaves across the college basketball recruiting landscape when he announced his decision to reclassify last week. Noel has now surpassed Shabazz Muhammad for the top ranking in the senior class according to ESPN.

Rasheed Sulaimon, Duke's lone signee for the 2012 class thus far, has been selected to play in the prestigious Jordan Brand Classic game. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard will play alongside future North Carolina point guard Marcus Paige and Duke recruit Shabazz Muhammad on the West team. The game will be played in Charlotte, North Carolina on Saturday, April 14th. Tipoff is set for 7pm at the Time Warner Cable Arena.

Last week ESPN released an updated version of its class of 2012 player rankings. Duke signee Rasheed Sulaimon checks in as the 13th ranked player overall and the 3rd best shooting guard in the class. The future Duke sharpshooter is virtually a lock to make the McDonald’s All American game in April.

According to Adam Zagoria, Duke and N.C. State are “in the driver’s seat” for Amile Jefferson. The 6-foot-9 power forward is expected to announce a college decision by the end of January per CBS Sports. Jefferson is one the few uncommitted top 100 big men in the class of 2012.

Duke’s blowout loss to Ohio State last week coincides with the Blue Devil’s recruitment battle with the Buckeyes for Tony Parker. The five-star big man continues to weigh his options, although Duke and Ohio State are considered to be the leaders in his recruitment. According to The Recruit Scoop’s Alex Kline, Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski and assistant coach Jeff Capel were in Georgia to watch Parker lead Miller Grove to an easy 81-44 win last Friday night.

The early signing period ended on Wednesday and surprisingly, Duke target Tony Parker has not made a college decision. According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the 6-foot-9, 280 pound center will likely announce a school in the middle of his high school season. Parker will decide between Duke, Ohio State, UCLA and Memphis. The Georgia native has taken official visits to all four schools.

Five star center Tony Parker will be at Duke this weekend for his official visit. Parker has already taken official visits to Ohio State, UCLA and Memphis. According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Parker was supposed to take an official visit to Georgetown last weekend, but ended up cancelling the visit. It is unknown at this point if Parker will reschedule his visit to Georgetown.

Two of Duke’s top 2012 recruits spent the past weekend at other schools for official visits. The class’s top player, Shabazz Muhammad, was in Lexington, Kentucky for Kentucky’s Big Blue Madness. According to his diary entry on slamonline.com, Muhammad lists Duke, UNLV, Kansas, Texas A&M, UCLA, Kentucky and Memphis as his finalists. Muhammad has also taken an official visit to Texas A&M already, and Duke is expected to receive an official visit. According to ESPNHS, Muhammad will take all five of his official visits and will not announce a college decision until the spring signing period.

The Duke coaching staff finished the recruiting contact period last week in Las Vegas by watching the class of 2012’s top player, Shabazz Muhammad. In Muhammad’s blog on ESPNHS, he praised the Kentucky and Duke staffs for being the last to visit him.

According to Mitch McGary’s blog on ESPNHS, McGary will decide on a college destination within the next month. McGary wrote, “Duke has been up here the most. I really like what Coach K has been talking to me about.” McGary also wrote, “As far as more visits, I don’t think I’ll make any.” ESPN’s recruiting analyst, Dave Telep, tweeted Monday, “If I were to set the odds, I’d install Michigan as the favorite with McGary at this juncture.”

With less than a month till the start of college basketball, Duke is set to host some of its top recruits for Countdown to Craziness. Duke’s lone commit for 2012 thus far, Rasheed Sulaimon, is set to attend, marking Sulaimon’s first visit to campus since his commitment in March.

After hosting ESPN’s No. 2 ranked player in the class of 2012, Mitch McGary, this weekend, head coach Mike Krzyzewski and staff will be in Las Vegas Monday evening for an in-home visit with the consensus No. 1 player in the class, Shabazz Muhammad. The 6-foot-6 wing is characterized as an incredibly athletic lefty who plays the game with a high level of intensity and maturity.
