Second suspect in Gardens robberies arrested

The second suspected perpetrator in two armed robberies that took place near Duke Gardens earlier this summer has been arrested.

Twenty year-old Denshawn Thompson was arrested Tuesday by the U.S Marshal's Services Violent Fugitive Task Force at the Red Roof Inn on North Point Drive in Durham. Thompson is being held at the Durham County Jail on $3 million bond.

Thompson has been charged with four counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and other crimes, as has 20 year-old Tamisha Thompson who was arrested August 1 and also thought to have committed the robberies near Duke Gardens July 15 and 25.

An arrest warrant was released for Denshawn and Tamisha on July 31.
