Duke honors seniors by routing Clemson

No. 11 Duke snapped a two-game winless streak in style, scoring six goals-its most of the ACC season-in a 6-0 route of Clemson Sunday in Koskinen Stadium.

The scoring outburst made a special day even more memorable, as six Blue Devil seniors were honored on the program's senior day.

And finally, with the win, Duke (12-3-2, 4-2-2 in the ACC) snapped a pesky six-game losing streak to the Tigers (5-9-1, 1-6-1).

All in all, it was a day to remember for Duke, which received goals from four different players and a Clemson defender on an own goal.

Junior KayAnne Gummersall continued a scoring spree with a team-high two goals, giving her four goals in the team's last three games. Her second goal was her 11th, giving her the most on the squad, eclipsing junior Elisabeth Redmond.

Senior Lorraine Quinn scored less than one minute into the contest when her 25-yard blast hit the side netting.

Carey Goodman and Chelsea Canepa also connected for the Blue Devils on the afternoon.

Senior goalkeeper Cassidy Powers and freshman goalie Emily Nahas combined for Duke's second consecutive shutout.
