Basketball interrupts study period

The Chronicle's staff editorial on the insufficient study time for finals is absolutely correct (Dec. 7, 2005). But, in addition, the University then scheduled one of the biggest basketball games of the year in the midst of it. This is profoundly unfair to those involved in the game but also will distract a very large percentage of the student body--and not only for the few hours of the game. This is a mistake that should not be repeated in the future.
