Maintenance vehicle vandalized

An employee reported vandalism to a maintenance vehicle parked in front of the Art Museum. The vehicle was parked between 5 p.m. Oct. 23 and 9:54 a.m. Oct. 24. The employee reported that the vehicle had been entered, the contents and equipment in the vehicle scattered on the ground. The suspects also sprayed a can on spray adhesive on the vehicle. Damage is estimated at $100.

Diapers, sweatshirts swiped

A visitor reported the theft of three sweatshirts and a diaper bag from section 16 of Wallace Wade Stadium during Saturday's football game. The visitor said he left the items, valued at $125, in his seat momentarily and when he returned the items were gone.

Emergency phone damaged

At 2:43 a.m. Oct. 25, officers responding to an emergency phone activation at the Edens firelane behind Edens 1A found damage to the emergency phone. Officers found the emergency phone box torn off the pole and thrown into the bushes. Damage to the phone is estimated at $400.

Wallet taken from backpack

A student left his wallet in his backpack at 6 p.m. Oct. 24 in the Divinity School and left his backpack unattended for about an hour. When he checked his backpack at 7 p.m. he noticed his wallet missing. The wallet and contents are valued at $80.

Leaf blower stolen

An employee reported Oct. 24 the theft of a $156 Stihl leaf blower from a maintenance storage shed on West Campus. The employee reported that the blower was last seen Oct. 3 in the storage shed. There was no sign of forced entry to the shed.

Monitor taken

An employee reported at 1:26 p.m. Oct. 24 the theft of a Hewlett-Packard flat panel computer monitor from the Bryan Research Building. The employee said that the monitor had been left in a part of the building being renovated for around one month. The missing monitor is valued at $1,000.

Cash pilfered

A visitor reported Oct. 24 the theft of $15 in cash from her purse in the first floor women's restroom at Duke Hospital. She left her purse in the restroom at noon Oct. 24 and when she retrieved her purse at 12:45 p.m. she found the cash missing.
