Music equipment, shades nabbed

Two students reported that between 8:30 p.m. Aug. 31 and 6 a.m. Sept. 1, while their vehicles were parked at 1907 Erwin Road, the following items were stolen: $5 in cash, 31 CDs valued at $260, a Sony portable compact disc player with converter and plug, brown Polo sunglasses and black Giorgio Armani sunglasses. One victim said she was not sure if her vehicle was secured, and the other said hers was.

Car ransacked at Gardens
A visitor reported that between 10:52 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Sept. 1, while her vehicle was parked in the Sarah P. Duke Gardens parking lot, someone broke out a window valued at $150, and stole her $15 purse, $200 in cash, credit cards, checkbook, driver's license, Social Security card, keys and $150 Verizon cellular telephone.

Stolen change purse yields $45
An employee reported that between 6 p.m. Aug. 29 and 8:30 a.m. Sept. 2, someone entered her desk in Duke Clinic 3J and stole $45 in cash from her change purse.

Stereo stolen from car
A student reported that between 8 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Sept. 1, while his vehicle was parked at the intersection of Highway 751 and Science Drive, someone broke out a window valued at $60 and stole his $350 Panasonic CD stereo.

Laptop thieved
An employee reported that between noon Aug. 27 and noon Sept. 1, he left his $2,000 Toshiba Satellite laptop computer, model 1100-5101, unsecured in Hudson Hall classroom 213-A. When he returned, the laptop was no longer in the room.

CD players filched
A student reported that between 11:30 p.m. Aug. 30 and 5 p.m. Sept. 1, while his vehicle was parked in Blue Zone lot 5, someone pried open a door and stole his $250 Sony compact disc player. In a separate incident, a student reported that between 8 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Sept. 1, while his vehicle was parked at the intersection of Highway 751 and Science Drive, someone broke out a window valued at $60 and stole his $350 Panasonic compact disc player, model CQDF100U.

Decal nabbed from car
A student reported that between 9:45 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Aug. 29, while his unsecured vehicle was parked in the Chemistry parking lot, someone stole his parking decal, CHEM 040906, valued at $234 .

Medical Center laptops nabbed
An employee reported that between 6:30 p.m. Aug. 29 and 8:30 a.m. Sept. 2, someone entered an unsecured office located in the Orange Zone of Duke Clinic and stole a $1,800 Dell C840 Latitude laptop computer, serial number 52NQN11.

In a separate incident, an employee reported that between 8 a.m. Sept. 1 and 10 a.m. Sept. 2, someone entered the repair shop in the Orange Zone of Duke Clinic and stole a $2,105 Gateway Solo 5300 laptop computer, serial number 0022475138, Med-ID-06.
