DSG reinstates student newspaper readership program

Duke Student Government voted Wednesday to instate a new version of their previously defunded readership program that provided The New York Times, USA Today and the Durham Herald Sun. The new program will provide free online access to The New York Times for all undergraduates, and 120 hard copy papers around campus.

DSG allocates $50,000 for student campus projects

Duke Student Government voted to approve a new program that allows student teams to implement campus improvement projects with DSG funding at its meeting Wednesday. “Pitch-a-Project” will allow students to propose ideas they believe would improve the undergraduate experience at Duke, said Michael Norwalk, vice president for facilities and the environment, who presented the proposal for the program in open senate.


DSG Executive Vice President John Guarco is hoping for more results from DSGRU this year.

DSGRU seeks concrete results in second year

In its second year, the Duke Student Government Research Unit is looking to solidify its reputation among the administration and the student body alike. Created a year ago under the auspices of then DSG Executive Vice President Abhi Sanka, a senior, DSGRU uses quantitative data to tackle a number of major campus questions proposed by the DSG senate.
