Nze takes third

Duke Women’s tennis competed in the Kitty Harrison Invitational this weekend, with Ellah Nze taking third place overall in singles. The senior defeated all four of her opponents during the weekend, with the final win coming against Maryland’s Jordan Sanford, 3-6, 6-4, 1-0. Duke was a dominating 22-1 in its singles contests over the weekend. Against Maryland, Nadine Fahoum, Mary Clayton, Hannah Mar, Monica Gorny and Nze all topped Terrapins. The Blue Devils’ only slip-up all three days—a Mar loss to Rachael Dillon—came on day one against Vanderbilt.


Cunha and Carleton fall in Indoor Championships

The men’s tennis team unceremoniously finished the fall season this weekend in Flushing, N.Y., at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships. Though the Blue Devils were riding the momentum of spectacular fall results, sophomore Henrique Cunha and senior Reid Carleton fell early in both doubles and singles competition at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, the home of the U.S. Open.






Duke Swimming falls short to N.C. State

After a week of honors for Duke swimmers—including senior Spencer Booth, who won the Cousilman-Hunsaker National Collegiate Swimmer of the Week honor Wednesday, and freshman Christine Wixted, who earned the ACC Performer of the Week award—Saturday was a fall back to earth. The Blue Devils lost to N.C. State in a meet at home, with Campbell University also participating.
