Center Amber Henson will take an indefinite leave of absence, Duke announced Sunday.

Graduate student Amber Henson will take an indefinite leave of absence from the team, Duke announced via press release Sunday night.

Henson was not on the bench during Duke's 72-61 win against Army Sunday at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

“At this time, it is in Amber’s best interest to take time away from basketball to focus on her personal well-being,” Duke head coach Joanne P. McCallie said in a press release. “We will continue to be in full support of Amber, and hope for her return to our program in the future.”

Henson—a 6-foot-4 center—appeared in Duke's first three games prior to Sunday, averaging 1.3 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. The Tampa, Fla., native has dealt with knee injuries throughout her career, and is enrolled in the Fuqua School of Business.
