Duke’s 6% increase in applicants for the Class of 2016 was moderate, as compared to UChicago’s 16.1% increase and Columbia’s 8.9% decrease in applicants.
The cost of attending Duke has risen steadily over last decade, growing at a rate surpassing the rate of inflation. Today, 55 percent of Duke students are receiving financial aid.
