Florida State

(11/05/10 8:00am)

Last January, the Seminoles must have felt pretty good about themselves. They began their season promisingly with a 13-2 record, including an impressive victory on the road against then-No. 22 Georgia Tech. Sophomore center Solomon Alabi was well on his way toward a promising season, putting up 11.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per contest. Junior forward Chris Singleton put up equally impressive statistics.

Defending champs mount title defense

(09/03/10 4:30am)

Thomas leads the Blue Devils in points, assists and steals, and she became the 26th player in Duke history to score 1,000 points, as a junior, earlier this year. Last week, she was named as one of 30 candidates for the Naismith Player of the Year award. The list goes on and on, but there is one question that is much more pertinent to Blue Devil fans—can Duke win without her?

Reeling Tar Heels look for season-changing win

(02/10/10 10:00am)

For the Tar Heels, the importance of tonight’s game extends far beyond the Carolina-Duke rivalry. It’s about more than getting a ‘W’ and improving in the ACC standings. For the defending national champions, the last few weeks have been nothing short of disastrous. For that reason, tonight is about redemption, and returning pride to a university that has historically boasted some of the finest basketball players in the world.
