Future Blue Devils showcase skills in Cameron

Playing in his first game in Cameron Indoor Stadium Saturday night in front of a crowd of only a couple thousand spectators, Blair Academy (N.J.) standout and future Blue Devil Luol Deng brought down the house, dropping 30 points, grabbing 11 boards and taking home player of the game honors as he helped lead Blair over Millbrook (Raleigh) 77-60.








UNC rings Duke's bell with last-minute field goal

After two missed field goals and a botched extra point earlier in the game, North Carolina kicker Dan Orner nailed a weak, wobbly 47-yard kick as time expired to beat the football team 23-21 Saturday afternoon and take the wind out of a student body that looked ready to tear down the Wallace Wade Stadium goal posts for the second time this season.











Men's basketball wins Battle of Britain

LONDON -- The men's basketball team left Raleigh-Durham International Airport Friday afternoon, heading across the Atlantic Ocean to compete Sunday and Monday in the International Challenge Series at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre in London. After playing four games in two days against three different European club teams, the Blue Devils had compiled a 3-1 record, gained valuable experience-particularly their freshmen-and grown together as a team.
