The drive to Williamsburg, Virginia is one that I have made countless times. Simply follow the road signs to I-85 North and prepare for 128 miles of easy driving. You will rarely encounter traffic, so you can rock out to your favorite music without fearing the scorn of passing drivers, making it ideal for a roadtrip with friends.

BLACKSBURG, Va. — The No. 8 Blue Devils delivered a heartbreaking Valentine’s Day loss to Virginia Tech Sunday, defeating the Hokies 65-53 at Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg. Despite an inconsistent offensive performance, Duke, led by junior Jasmine Thomas, maintained its composure in the final minutes of the game to come away with its third win of the week.

An unyielding defense plus a fiery offense sparked by junior Jasmine Thomas proved to be a winning combination for the No. 10 Blue Devils this week at the Caribbean Challenge in Cancun, Mexico. Duke (5-1) gave previously unbeaten Western Kentucky its first loss of the season, rolling past the Lady Toppers 70-47 Thursday. It was more of the same Friday, as the Blue Devils thumped Marquette 74-43.

Duke has fallen just short against ACC opponents over and over this season, and the disappointing trend continued Saturday as the Blue Devils (9-9, 0-5 in the ACC) registered a 2-1 loss against No. 3 Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. Duke posted strong efforts both offensively and defensively, but was unable to secure the win against the Cavaliers (16-2, 3-2) in its last regular season contest.

In their last regular-season game of the year, the 13th-ranked Blue Devils travel to face No. 3 Virginia (15-2, 2-2 in the ACC) Saturday in Charlottesville, Va. The last time the two teams met was in the first round of last year’s ACC tournament, where Duke came away with a 5-2 loss. Head coach Beth Bozman, however, thinks that this year’s team is better prepared to secure a different outcome.
