The hits keep coming for the class of 2022.
Mark Mitchell, a five-star forward from Shawnee Mission, Kan., committed to the Blue Devils Friday. Duke beat out UCLA and Missouri in the race for the 6-foot-8 prospect.
The lefty has a well-rounded skillset that should translate well to the college game. Mitchell uses his size and agility to finish at the rim, but can also step outside and knock down perimeter jumpers.
With fellowing incoming recruit Dereck Lively II likely to slot in on the interior, Mitchell's repertoire as a hybrid forward is a major addition for next season's roster. He will likely get most of his minutes at the three, but could see time as a small-ball power forward depending on incoming head coach Jon Scheyer's lineup combinations.
Mitchell is the No. 10 2022 recruit and the No. 3 small forward in the nation according to 247Sports. The Sunrise Christian Academy senior joins Lively, Kyle Filipowski, Dariq Whitehead and Jaden Schutt as Scheyer's first recruiting class.
