2015 Army football season preview

The Black Knights’ vaunted rushing attack ranked fifth in the country last year with 296.5 yards per game, but only converted that yardage into 25.0 points per contest.

Army lost its top offensive threats in quarterback Angel Santiago and running backs Larry Dixon and Terry Baggett. The trio combined for 2,487 yards and 21 touchdowns on the ground, and sophomore Ahmad Bradshaw is slated to step in as the starting quarterback. Classmates Joe Walker and John Trainor will join Bradshaw as the main offensive weapons in the Black Knights’ triple-option offense.

Army returns plenty of experience on defense—Jeremy Timpf, Josh Jenkins and Chris Carnegie totaled all 11 of the Black Knights’ interceptions in 2014, and all three return for another season. Army allowed 5.3 yards per carry on the ground last season—an area the talented Blue Devil backfield could exploit as a way to control possession.
