Forward Javin DeLaurier commits to Duke men's basketball, joins Class of 2016

Power forward Javin DeLaurier announced his commitment to Duke and head coach Mike Krzyzewski Sunday, becoming the third member of the Blue Devils' Class of 2016. The 6-foot-9 DeLaurier is a four-star prospect and is currently ranked No. 44 in the 2016 ESPN 100.

DeLaurier committed to the Blue Devils after visiting campus this weekend, joining point guard Frank Jackson and small forward Jayson Tatum. The Charlottesville, Va., native is athletic and mobile for a player of his size and has shown the ability to dominate the glass on both sides of the court. DeLaurier also has shown great rim-protecting ability and often alters shots on the defensive end. Although his offensive game is mostly around the rim at this point, the forward is working on developing a stronger outside game.

With DeLaurier in tow, the Blue Devils now hold commitments from three prospects ranked in the top 50 of the 2016 ESPN 100.
