Coach K drains jumper in video leading up to Duke-Louisville clash

Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski has earned the moniker "Coach K" throughout the years, but In case people forgot, Krzyzewski used to be a guard at Army back in the day, and Friday, he reminded people that he's still got game.

As the Blue Devils were practicing and preparing for Saturday's matchup against Louisville, Krzyzewski decided to take the court alongside senior guard Quinn Cook and junior guard Rasheed Sulaimon to take a couple of jump shots. Duke Blue Planet captured Krzyzewski first lining up a free throw.

After Duke's 63-52 win at Louisville Saturday afternoon, Cook commented on what it was like to see the normally business-like head coach taking shots with players. The Washington, D.C., native also revealed that Krzyzewski actually beat him in a shooting contest.

“It was good, it was good," Cook said with a wry smile as his postgame interviews ended. "He beat me in a free-throw competition.”

Based on Cook's report and the image above, it would appear that the 67-year old Chicago native still has the fundamentals down pat.

But the winningest coach in NCAA Division I history did not get there by settling for free throws. Krzyzewski flashed his range, stepping back to try his hand at an elbow jumper.

The Blue Devils may want to take notes. After shooting just 36.9 percent in Sunday's loss to N.C. State and 43.9 percent in Tuesday's loss to Miami, Duke will take on Louisville. The Cardinals allow just 56.9 points per game and hold opponents to 39.2 percent from the floor—good for fourth in the nation.
