Duke basketball gets more custom shoes from former star Kyrie Irving

The Blue Devils got custom LeBron 12's for their regular season debut and will likely show off some new custom kicks from another Cavaliers star soon.

Duke Blue Planet's twitter account showed off the No. 4 Duke's new custom Kyrie Irving Air Force 1's Friday afternoon.

The shoes feature Irving's signature, the No. 2 he wears for the Cavaliers alongside James and the logo that is used on all of Irving's Nike apparel. All of these elements are coordinated with a white, gray and blue color scheme that make them fit with Duke's uniforms perfectly.

Irving played in 11 regular season games as a freshman for the Blue Devils in 2010-11 before missing the rest of the regular season with a toe injury. The dynamic guard returned to score 28 points against Arizona in the Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament, but his outburst was not enough as the Wildcats upset Duke to end its season.

Irving was then selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the ensuing NBA draft and is now in his fourth season as a professional after battling injuries and adversity for a struggling team in his first three. With James and star forward Kevin Love now in Cleveland, expectations are sky-high for the reigning All-Star Game and FIBA World Cup MVP.

Irving's relationship with Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski was strong during his time in Durham and has only grown through his role on Team USA.

With custom shoes already from Irving and James this season, it will be interesting to see what footwear the Blue Devils don in their next contest. Duke will host Krzyzewski's Alma mater, Army, Sunday at noon at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
