Rice transfer Sean Obi to visit Duke this weekend

As the month of April rages on, Myles Turner isn't the only big man the Blue Devils are trying to land.

Former Rice forward Sean Obi is on campus for a visit with Duke this weekend, as first reported by ESPN's Jeff Goodman. The 6-foot-9 Nigerian averaged 11.4 points and 9.3 rebounds during his freshman season with the Owls, leading Conference-USA in rebounding.

Academics should play a major factor in Obi's decision. He took a visit to Vanderbilt last weekend, and Northwestern and Virginia are reportedly in hot pursuit as well. Obi would not be eligible to play immediately and would have to sit out the 2014-15 season.

Hitting the transfer market for big men has become a go-to move for the Blue Devils as of late. Duke flirted heavily with former Memphis forward Tarik Black before he ultimately chose Kansas instead of the Blue Devils last summer.
