Duke safety Jeremy Cash was named a second-team All-American by USA Today Wednesday. The redshirt sophomore is competing in his first season with the Blue Devils after transferring from Ohio State and sitting out the subsequent season.
He was a key piece to the Duke defense that held opponents to 24.7 points per game and forced 26 turnovers. Cash was also the only player to rank in the top 10 in the ACC in tackles, interceptions and forced fumbles.
Duke has now had one All-America selection in each of head coach David Cutcliffe's six years at the helm. Safety Matt Daniels earned second-team All-America honors in 2011.
