Peyton and Eli Manning with Duke football head coach David Cutcliffe

Duke football head coach David Cutcliffe coached then-future NFL stars Peyton and Eli Manning when they were in college.

And they've stayed close ever since: The Manning brothers have been working out down at Duke with their former coach this week.

Cutcliffe was the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at Tennessee when Peyton was there and the head coach at Ole Miss when Eli was there.

Last summer, when Peyton was rehabbing from a career-threatening neck injury, he stayed with Cutcliffe and did a significant portion of his rehab at Duke. He worked out for the Broncos, who he eventually signed with, at Duke's practice facility.

Peyton Manning came down with Denver wide receivers Eric Decker, Demaryius Thomas and Wes Welker. Eli came down with Giants wideouts Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz and Louis Murphy.

Duke wide receiver Conner Vernon has gotten to work out with the Mannings. Other Blue Devils participating in the workouts: safety Jordon Byas, long snapper Jackson Anderson, safety Tony Foster and wide receiver/running back Desmond Scott. Former Blue Devil linebacker and current Cincinnati Bengal Vinny Rey also was on hand.

Here are pictures from today with Cutcliffe, Peyton and Eli walking out from the Yoh Football Center into Cameron Indoor Stadium.
