April 3 Duke football scrimmage notes

The Duke football team scrimmaged to day, 10 days before the program's Spring Game on April 13.

Here are some more notes from the press release:

Offense

  • Anthony Boone, currently the No. 1 QB on the depth chart, completed 11-of-19 passes for 166 yards. He had two touchdowns and one interception. 
  • Tight end Isaac Blakeney and wide receiver Jamison Crowder caught the touchdown passes. Blakeney's was 16 yards, Crowder's was 56.
  • Blakeney caught five balls for 43 yards while wide receiver Max McCaffrey snagged five catches for a team-high 76 yards.
  • Backup QB Thomas Sirk completed 8-of-15 passes with no touchdowns and an interception.
  • Running back Shaquille Powell rushed eight times for 48 yards, and Josh Snead rushed nine times for 47 yards.

Defense

  • The defensive lineman totalled six sacks. 
  • Defensive end Jamal Wallace led the team with two sacks. Defensive tackle A.J. Wolf had one sack and a fumble recovery. The others to put up sacks were: Jamal Bruce, Allen Jackson, Jordan DeWalt-Ondijo.
  • Safety Jacques Bristow recorded both of the day's interceptions.
