After 13 seasons, Bill Carmody has been relieved of his duties as the head coach of Northwestern basketball.
This has been a move speculated about for a few years now, and one of the names consistently brought up as a potential replacement: Duke associate head coach Chris Collins.
According to a CBSSports source, Collins is now the favorite to replace Carmody.
Collins is a native of Northbrook, Illinois and has been an important recruiter for Duke within the state. Collins has never been a head coach at the collegiate level and going to a Big Ten program in Evanston, Illinois, could potentially be intriguing.
