Report: Bobby Hurley hired at Buffalo

Although all the attention may be on Duke basketball assistant coach Chris Collins taking the Northwestern head coaching job, another former Blue Devil will be a head coach next season.

According to CBS' Jeff Goodman, former Blue Devil point guard Bobby Hurley has been hired as the next head coach at Buffalo. Hurley had previously been serving as an assistant to his brother Dan Hurley at Rhode Island after performing in a similar capacity at Wagner.

Hurley played at Duke from 1990-1993, playing on the national championship teams in 1991 and 1992, earning the Most Outstanding Player award in the 1992 Final Four.

A three-time All-ACC selection, Hurley averaged 17.0 points and 8.2 assists per game as a senior.

Hurley was taken with the seventh pick in the 1993 NBA Draft but only played five years after a car accident.
