When the ACC Media Association voted for the conference's All-ACC teams, Mason Plumlee was the lone Duke basketball player to make the first team.
When the league's 12 head coaches submitted their ballots for the inaugural Coaches All-ACC Basketball Team, both Plumlee and Seth Curry received first-team honors, joining Miami's Shane Larkin, Virginia's Joe Harris and Virginia Tech's Erick Green.
The vote was conducted prior to the ACC Tournament and was based solely on regular season performance.
Plumlee and Harris tied for the most vote points with 33. Larkin received 32 while Curry and Green received 31.
No Blue Devil made the second or third teams. In the media poll, Quinn Cook was voted to the third team.
Plumlee was the lone Blue Devil to make the All-ACC Defensive team as voted on by the coaches, a team that included six members. Three of those players—Durand Scott, Shane Larkin and Julian Gamble—play for Miami. Virginia's Jontel Evans and Florida State's Michael Snaer rounded out the squad.
Rasheed Sulaimon was second among vote getters on the Freshman Team, with 10 votes. Boston College's Olivier Hanlan led the way with 11.
Plumlee finished the regular season averaging 17.2 points and 10.3 rebounds per game and concluded the campaign with a 23-point, 13-rebound effort in Duke’s 69-53 win against North Carolina. Plumlee led the conference with 17 double-doubles in the regular season.
Curry proved to be among the most effective offensive weapons in the conference, averaging 17.1 points per game and hitting 43.5% of his 3-pointers, both of which ranked third in the ACC during the regular season.
After getting bounced by Maryland in the first round of the ACC Tournament quarterfinals, second-seeded Duke returns to action Friday at 12:15 p.m. against 15th-seeded Albany in Philadelphia.
