Jabari Parker to officially visit Duke October 27

October is shaping up to be a huge month for Duke basketball.

Jabari Parker, the No. 1 overall player in the class of 2013, will officially visit Duke the weekend of October 27 according to an article today by the Duke Report.

Parker's first visit to Durham since his sophomore year in high school will coincide with the Blue Devils' first exhibition game against Western Washington.

Duke basketball head coach Mike Krzyzewski was in Chicago for an in-home visit with Parker on Friday. And the news of Parker's official visit has given the Blue Devil fan base a renewed sense of optimism in Duke's chances to bring the talented swingman to Durham.

Michigan State, the perceived frontrunner in Parker's recruitment, is expected to host the 6-foot-8 small forward this weekend as the football team hosts Ohio State.

Prior to Parker's official visit, Krzyzewski and his staff will host Austin Nichols—the No. 6 power forward in the class of 2013 according to ESPN.com—the weekend of October 6 for an official visit.

Duke already has verbal commitments from Matt Jones (SG) and Semi Ojeleye (SF) in the class of 2013.
