Refectory reopens under new management

The Refectory at the Divinity School will begin operations under new management, according to a University news release.

Pat Eder and Monica Vaughn, partners of Core Catering, Inc., will operate the facility beginning Monday, July 30. Eder and Vaughn, along with executive chef Danielle Mitchell, are former Refectory employees.

"We're thrilled to be back," Eder said in the release. "We are resolute to sourcing local foods and to providing healthy, nutritious meals, and are unwavering in our commitment to sustainability."

The Divinity Refectory was originally operated by Laura Hall, owner of Bon Vivant Catering. Hall's contract with Duke Dining was not renewed following a contract dispute in which she did not agree to an increased commission of 15 percent.
