Rodney Hood to visit Duke June 14-15

Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski's 2012-13 roster may not be finalized just yet, even if it may include a player who's not eligible to play that season.

Mississippi State transfer Rodney Hood will pay a visit to Durham June 14-15, per Steve Wiseman of the Durham Herald Sun.

The 6-foot-8 swingman's recruitment appears to be a two-horse race between Duke and Ohio State, where his good friend and former AAU teammate LaQuinton Ross plays. Many fans even thought Hood might commit to Ohio State after visiting Columbus last week. Hood has also visited Memphis and Baylor in the past few weeks.

The Blue Devil coaching staff expressed interest in Hood while he was in high school, but never extended a scholarship offer to the Meridian, Miss. native, who was the No.5 small forward in the class of 2011 according to scout.com coming out of high school.

As freshman, Hood averaged 10.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game for the Bulldogs and made the SEC All Freshman team. Hood opted to transfer after Mississippi State head coach Rick Stansbury decided to retire following the 2011-12 season.

Hood will be forced to sit out the 2012-13 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
