Cutcliffe recipient of Cash transfer

Duke has reaped the reward of yet another defector from Ohio State after the Buckeyes' chaotic year.

Blue Devil head coach David Cutcliffe announced Monday that freshman defensive back Jeremy Cash had transferred from Ohio State to Duke. Cash has enrolled at Duke for the spring semester and will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.

"We are happy to welcome Jeremy to Duke University and into our football, family," Cutcliffe said in a press release.

Cash was a highly regarded prospect out of high school, ranked as the No. 25 cornerback in the country by Rivals.com and the No. 30 safety in the country by Scout.com. The 6-2, 190-pound Floridian played in five games for the Buckeyes and recorded three tackles on the season.

While Cash will have to sit out the 2012 season per NCAA rules, his presence will provide a boost for a Blue Devil secondary that lost safeties Matt Daniels and Lee Butler and cornerback Johnny Williams to graduation this year.
