Duke freshman Austin Rivers is making a national splash even before the season tips off.
Rivers, already named the preseason ACC Freshman of the Year, was named to the Naismith Award Watch List on Monday. Rivers is one of 50 players on the list for the award, given annually to the top player of the nation and is one of only seven freshmen on the list.
The winner will be announced during the Final Four after the list is narrowed down to 30 players in late February.
