BREAKING: Police arrest McDonald's employee in Bryan Center bomb threat

Duke University Police Department and Durham Police Department officers arrested 20-year-old Renaldo Webbe of Durham Wednesday in relation to the false bomb threat called into the Bryan Center Saturday.

Webbe, a temporary employee at the McDonald's in the Bryan Center, has been charged with making a false bomb report and making a false report of mass violence on educational property, according to a news release Wednesday. Both of these charges are felonies.

Webbe allegedly phoned in false reports about explosives in the Bryan Center on West Campus Saturday. The calls prompted officials to evacuate the Bryan Center for a few hours in order to conduct a search. DUPD, along with members of the DPD and Raleigh Police Department, determined the calls were a hoax after the search, aided by a bomb-sniffing dog, did not turn up any evidence to support the threat.
