North Carolina's Dwight Jones leads top Week 1 ACC performers

The top three performers in the ACC from Week 1:

1) Dwight Jones, wide receiver, North Carolina

Jones led a dominating Tar Heel offense to a 42-10 victory over FCS foe James Madison with nine receptions, 116 yards and two touchdowns. Jones, though, was the benefactor of a stellar performance from his quarterback Bryn Renner who completed 22 of 23 passes in the contest.

2) Tevin Washington, quarterback, Georgia Tech

The Yellowjackets may be a triple-option offense, but Washington put up stellar numbers through the air thanks to two touchdown passes greater than 75 yards. He totaled 271 yards and three touchdowns on only eight complete passes, not to mention 34 yards rushing, in a Georgia Tech victory.

3) David Wilson, running back, Virginia Tech

Wilson powered a 66-point Hokie outburst over Appalachian State with 162 yards rushing and three touchdowns on just 16 carries—an impressive 10.1 yard average per carry.

And the worst:

Wake Forest defense

The Demon Deacons blew a 15 point fourth quarter lead to Syracuse, including a 53 yard touchdown run and subsequent two point conversion to tie the game. The Wake Forest defense also allowed a touchdown in overtime to finalize the defeat.
