Football injury report: Week 3

S Jordon Byas (foot) – Probable

K Will Snyderwine (foot) – Questionable

QB Brandon Connette (upper body) – OUT

C Brian Moore (arm) – OUT

RB Desmond Scott (leg) – OUT

RB Josh Snead (foot) – OUT

Duke will once again be without its two best running backs this weekend, leaving the load almost exclusively on Juwan Thompson, who has racked up 129 yards this season on an average of 5.4 yards per carry. The loss of Connette will force head coach David Cutcliffe to decide whether he wants to play Sean Renfree exclusively or send redshirt freshman Anthony Boone into the game for short-yardage situations. Snyderwine, who Cutcliffe said Tuesday injured his kicking foot initially in the preseason, aggravated his injury during the team's onside kick against the Cardinal and will likely miss this weekend's game. Paul Asack handled kickoff duties last week after Snyderwine missed the second half, and Jeffrey Ijjas attempted a 49-yard field goal that flew wide left.
