This is the longest injury report the Blue Devils have had all season. Snyderwine, Moore, Scott, Snead and Connette all missed the Boston College game. In Connette's absence, redshirt freshman quarterback Anthony Boone played well, completing both of his pass attempts to spell starter Sean Renfree. Juwan Thompson has carried the load well, averaging over 5 yards per carry in Scott and Snead's absence. Linemen Dave Harding, Laken Tomlinson and John Coleman have done a good job stepping up in veteran Brian Moore's absence. The kicking game has struggled with and without preseason All-American Will Snyderwine—he and Jeffrey Ijjas are a combined 0-for-6 on the young season. If he is held out again, look for Ijjas and Asack to handle place kicking duties and kickoffs, respectively.

The most notable new injury is Ross Cockrell's. Cockrell has been the team's most reliable cornerback this year and is arguably the most improved player on the team from a year ago. If he cannot go, it would be a big blow to Duke's secondary, which would have to call on inexperienced Zach Greene to step into the starting lineup. Another option would be for Lee Butler to slide from safety to cornerback, his original position, and let Walt Canty handle the snaps they usually split at safety. Fourth-string cornerback Tony Foster is hurt this week too. If Foster and Cockrell both cannot go, Tulane may look to exploit Duke's very inexperienced corners who will have been forced into starting duties.
