Jackson Hired As New Duke Assistant

UPDATE: The Duke Athletic Department has confirmed today that Candice Jackson will be an assistant coach next season.

"I am obviously very excited to have Candice join our staff," head coach Joanne P. McCallie said in a statement.  "She is a young person with great enthusiasm and a love for learning as well as somebody who also coached as a student coach in the national championship game in 2005."

It was also announced that Chris Carrawell will be moving from the men's team to the women's as a special assistant, a move that was likely spurred by the hire of Jeff Capel as Duke's new assistant coach earlier this week.

"It is wonderful to have another Duke graduate on staff that has been through Duke and can offer his experiences," McCallie said.

@wbballhoopscoop is reporting that Duke head coach Joanne P. McCallie will add Candice Jackson to her staff this season. Jackson played for McCallie at Michigan State but had an injury-riddled career that shifted her attention to coaching. She has been an assistant at Wake Forest for the past two seasons.
