Sooners Fire Capel, What's Next?

Oh, how quickly things can change.

According to multiple reports, Oklahoma fired men's basketball head coach Jeff Capel this week, just two years removed from making it to the Elite Eight in the NCAA tournament. Capel, a four-year starter at Duke from 1993-1997, led the Sooners for five seasons but the team has struggled since the departure of dunk-machine Blake Griffin. Over those five years, he compiled a record of 96-69, despite posting below-.500 marks in the last two seasons.

Now unemployed, the question becomes: what's next for the former Duke guard?

Many, including Jeff Schultz of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, speculated that he may be a good fit at ACC-rival Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets fired head coach Paul Hewitt this weekend, who had been in charge since 2000.

Duke fans, how would you feel about having such an accomplished graduate coaching a conference rival? Chime in within the comments section.
