Cutcliffe Not Impressed With Boise State

Generic Script

Last night's thrilling Boise State-Virginia Tech game, in which the Broncos came back in the fourth to win 33-30 thanks to inspired play from Kellen Moore, has all of America buzzing this morning.

Just don't count David Cutcliffe as impressed with the denizens of the bright blue field.

On 620 The Buzz this morning, Cutcliffe said the Broncos' win was the result of the Hokies' mistakes, and he said that he still felt Frank Beamer's squad was better.

You can't make mistakes in the kicking game, nobody emphasizes it more than Frank [Beamer]. But they were clearly the best team guys, anybody that watched the game could tell that Virginia Tech was the dominant team physically.

They didn't win but this stuff about we can't compete with the best.... you know Boise's a good football team. They're not a dominant physical football team. Gimme a break on some of the publicity.

Ouch!

Real well coached, good team, got some great skill players. Not as good a football team as Virginia Tech. Virginia Tech just blew the ball game.

Why the strong words from Cutcliffe? An ACC man defending his conference, or something else?
