Austin Rivers Sets Official Visits

Austin Rivers, the consensus No. 1 shooting guard recruit in the Class of 2011, has narrowed his list to three schools.

Duke's top priority for next season's recruiting class has the Blue Devils amongst his final three schools, along with North Carolina and Kansas. Rivers recently dropped Florida, the school he was verbally committed to until earlier this year, from his list.

The son of NBA coach Doc Rivers also set his official visit schedule, which will begin with a visit to Chapel Hill on October 1st.  He will then travel to Durham for Duke's Countdown to Craziness event on October 15th and conclude with a visit to Kansas on October 22nd.

While Rivers recently said he does not plan on committing until all his official visits are complete, he also told Adam Zagoria of ZagsBlog.com that Duke is his leader:

It's the school I have the best relationship with. It's the school I know most. I've talked to them the most and they've developed the best relationship with me.

Landing Rivers could give Duke one of the top recruiting classes in the nation next season. The Blue Devils have already received commitments from wing Michael Gbinije and forwards Tyler Adams and Marshall Plumlee and are continuing to pursue other five-star recruits, including power forward Quincy Miller and point guard Quinn Cook.
