Duke Sees No Movement In AP Top 25

Three observations on this week’s Associated Press Top 25:

1. Duke stays put at No. 7. The Blue Devils haven't played a game since their Dec. 19 contest against Gonzaga, when they defeated the Bulldogs 76-41 in Madison Square Garden. Duke will face Long Beach State (6-6) tomorrow at 7 p.m.

2. The ACC currently has four teams in the AP Top 25. The Blue Devils are followed by No. 9 North Carolina, No. 21 Clemson and No. 22 Florida State. Georgia Tech, Miami, Wake Forest and Virginia Tech all received votes but are not ranked.

3. Northwestern is creating some buzz. The Wildcats (10-1) made the AP Top 25 for the first time since Jan. 14, 1969 and boast wins over Stanford and N.C. State. The trio of Michael Thompson, John Shurna and Drew Crawford score 42.8 points per game, or nearly 60 percent of Northwestern's total offense.
