Duke preps for weekend with victory

Duke continued its seven-match winning streak and remained unbeaten at home when the Blue Devils blanked Wake Forest 7-0 Wednesday at Ambler Tennis Stadium. With the win, Duke (18-3, 8-1 in the ACC) puts itself in a position to challenge for ACC supremacy this weekend when it hosts Georgia Tech and Clemson, both of which are also 8-1 in the league.

"I didn't want them to get caught looking ahead," head coach Jamie Ashworth said of his team's performance. "I told them the other day, 'We've put ourselves in a good position all year, and now this is the week we have to take advantage of it,' and that started with this match today."

The Blue Devils swept the Demon Deacons (12-9, 3-5) in doubles, and clinched the win when Reka Zsilinszka, Ellah Nze and Jessi Robinson won three singles matches to give Duke the four points it needed for the victory.

Duke plays its last regular-season matches of the year this weekend against Clemson and Georgia Tech, and will also honor its seniors against the latter.
