For Thomas, An Unexpected 0-Fer

WINSTON-SALEM — Jasmine Thomas had little to complain about after Duke's 83-50 win at Wake Forest Wednesday. The team dominated the Demon Deacons, and Thomas had a nice little stat line of her own: 16 points on 7-of10 shooting, six rebounds and three steals.

But as she walked out of Wake Forest's press room, she wouldn't let up on head coach Joanne P. McCallie.

"I know this one isn't right!" she said with a laugh, referring to her total of zero assists. Thomas tried to explain what play she knew she had an assist on, but she was interrupted.

"No assists? You had an 0-fer!" responded McCallie with a grin.

Since all 12 players on the roster scored, McCallie let it go—but on a night when it seemed like Duke played nearly perfect, it appears like the staticians might have been the ones to err.
