Mike Munger, chair of the political science department, who ran for governor as a Libertarian candidate, was featured in a Dukenews video posted today in which he dives into the ocean. Wait, allow me to repeat that: Munger, dressed in a tweed suit and tie, takes a head-on dive into the salty waters of the North Carolina coast. Why? Two reasons: to celebrate the end of a long campaign and, as a last resort, to draw media attention. He decries local news stations WRAL and WDTV for not inviting him to participate in gubernatorial debates.
"This is really the only way that a libertarian or any third party candidate can get any attention," he says, before storming into the sea.
